January Update

Categories:Blog

Well, being the massive optimist that I am, the end of December sailed by. However, fret not. I've managed to pick up development again, along with client work, and it's ticking along at a fairly leisurely pace (but at least it's moving).

I just completed another module which makes extensive use of the new FileSystem class, and it's really proved its worth, creating trees of folders and files with hundreds of items almost instantaneously.

Also, I'm now hosting the code on GitHub, albeit in a private repository. Once it's a little more mature I'll open it up to public view.

Anyway, with regards to "when will it be ready?", I'm not going to tie myself to a deadline this time as client work and other projects invariably tend to sock it to self-imposed deadlines, but if you've registered, I'll let you know when the time comes.

Thanks for your patience, folks :)

Cheers,
Dave

This project looks really awesome! However, I was a bit sad to see that you haven’t made it public yet. I don’t understand the point of keeping this private, unless you’re planning to sell it? Why not just make it release what you have in its current form, and possibly get help from the community. There is no requirement that you have to accept patches from anyone if they are not up to your standards. I have a little bit of time to contribute to this now, if it were open source…

Yeah, hopefully the public thing will come soon. There may be some commercial aspects to the project, but they too will be open in spirit.

    Sorry for the delay…
